Why Not a Nag?
The title "Not a Nag" derives from the idea that even though I am Mrs. Van Winkle, I am not a nag. This stigma on Van Winkle women is due to the story "Rip Van Winkle," written by Washington Irving in the 1700's. Basically, he leaves his wife because she's a nag.
